icoone® vs endermologie (LPG): the mechanical-stimulation comparison, written honestly

icoone® and LPG endermologie are both mechanical connective-tissue devices worked over a client body suit, which is why buyers compare them. icoone® differs in its patented Roboderm® micro-hole applicator, two-hand application, laser and LED options with FDA clearances, and a U.S. installed base under 100 units. Pricing runs $58,000–$89,000.

  • Made in Bologna, Italy
  • 21,600 microstimulations/min
  • Fewer than 100 U.S. devices

Ground rules

How we compare, and what we will not claim

This page is written by an authorized U.S. distributor of icoone®. That is a bias, so here is how it is handled.

Every statement about icoone® on this page comes from i-Tech Industries materials, the FDA 510(k) records, or our own commercial terms. Every statement about endermologie is either a widely published description of the technology or is marked per publicly available manufacturer materials, and we do not state specifications, programme counts, prices or regulatory status for a competitor device that we cannot source. Where the answer matters to your purchase — clearances especially — we tell you to verify it at source rather than take our word for it.

We also do not make safety comparisons. icoone® is non-thermal mechanical stimulation; the laser configurations add a low-level 915 nm laser and 650 nm LED. What that means for a given client is a clinical judgment for the practice, not a marketing line, and we make no assertion about any other manufacturer's device in that respect.

What is left is a real comparison: mechanism, application, regulatory context, consumables, installed base, market position and what the distributor puts behind the sale. Those are the things that change the economics of your room.

Mechanism

What actually differs inside the handpiece

Both categories work the skin and the connective tissue mechanically. The difference is how many discrete points of contact each pass makes, and how symmetrically.

Multi Micro Alveolar Stimulation. 86% of every Roboderm® microstimulator's surface is micro-holes. Instead of one broad pull from a single chamber, each pass delivers thousands of fractional stimulations — up to 21,600 per minute at full speed.

The science it was designed around. Roboderm® was patented in 2008 by Gianfranco Tudico, CEO of i-Tech Industries, following Prof. Jean-Claude Guimberteau's work on the microvacuolar structure of subcutaneous tissue: stimulate the tissue's own architecture gently and symmetrically rather than compress it. i-Tech's Scientific Committee of 40+ clinicians reviews the protocols, and 15+ studies are published on icoone.com.

Two hands, not one. Twin motorised Robotwins handpieces work both sides of the body simultaneously — stated by i-Tech as exclusive to the platform. In practice that is a shorter session for the same coverage and a distinctly different client experience.

Non-thermal. The mechanical action is non-thermal. Laser configurations add a low-level 915 nm laser and a 650 nm LED alongside it.

Regulatory

What is cleared, and how to check the other side yourself

FDA 510(k) K182453 / K211272

Four labeled indications — laser-equipped configurations only

icoone® Laser Beauty and icoone® Laser-Med are cleared by the U.S. FDA for exactly these four indications, stated as labeled:

  1. 1Relief of minor muscle aches and pain
  2. 2Relief of muscle spasms
  3. 3Temporary improvement of local blood circulation
  4. 4Temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite

Source: K182453 (icoone® Laser Beauty) · K211272 (icoone® Laser-Med). Non-laser configurations and icoone® Microfacial are not represented as FDA-cleared.

Do not take a comparison page's word for it

The FDA maintains a public 510(k) database. Search it for any device you are considering, read the clearance letter and the indications for use statement, and compare those words with what a sales page told you. That includes this one: the two PDFs behind our clearances are linked in the panel beside this text.

For LPG endermologie, verify the competitor's 510(k) status on the FDA database. We will not summarise it for you, because a summary is exactly the kind of thing that goes stale and gets quoted back at a state board.

Market position

Thousands of units versus fewer than one hundred

fewer than 100
icoone® devices in the entire United States
7,000+
icoone® centers worldwide, 40+ countries (i-Tech Industries)
6M+
icoone® sessions performed each year globally

This is the difference most buyers underrate, and it is worth more than any spec line on the table above.

Endermologie has been sold in the United States for decades and there are thousands of units in the field. That maturity is genuinely valuable — the category is understood, clients recognise the word, and there is an established price expectation. It also means that in most metros you are entering a market where the service already exists at a known price, several competitors already offer it, and your differentiation has to come from somewhere other than the device.

icoone® is the inverse. fewer than 100 devices exist in the whole country. In the large majority of American cities, the first icoone® practice has not opened. That is a first-to-market position: you set the price, you define the protocol name, you own the category locally, and the manufacturer's reference wall — Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, Aman, Chanel, Six Senses, Dior Spa at The Lana — does the credibility work for you in your own marketing.

It also means more work. A first-to-market device has to be explained. That is precisely what the 90-Day Launch Program exists to fund.

Question 1 of 515%
What kind of business are you?

Questions buyers ask

Is icoone® the same as endermologie?

+

No. Both are mechanical connective-tissue devices worked over a client body suit, which is why buyers compare them, but the applicator is built differently. LPG endermologie is described in publicly available manufacturer materials as a motorised roller-and-flap suction chamber. icoone® uses patented Roboderm® microstimulators whose surface is 86% micro-holes, delivering up to 21,600 fractional microstimulations per minute — Multi Micro Alveolar Stimulation.

What is the main difference between icoone® and LPG?

+

Three things buyers can verify. First, the applicator: fractional micro-hole microstimulation instead of a single chamber. Second, two-hand symmetrical application — icoone® Robotwins work both sides of the body at once, which i-Tech states is exclusive to the platform. Third, U.S. market position: fewer than 100 icoone® devices exist in the entire United States against thousands of LPG units.

Is icoone® FDA-cleared and is endermologie?

+

icoone® Laser Beauty is cleared under 510(k) K182453 and icoone® Laser-Med under 510(k) K211272, both for four labeled indications: relief of minor muscle aches and pain; relief of muscle spasms; temporary improvement of local blood circulation; temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite. For any competitor device, verify the current 510(k) status on the FDA database directly rather than relying on a comparison page.

How much does icoone® cost compared with an LPG machine?

+

icoone® pricing is public: $58,000 for the face-only Microfacial, $79,000 for Beauty, $85,000 for Laser Beauty, $87,000 for Medical and $89,000 for Laser-Med, financed over 60 months at $0 down for qualified buyers, subject to approval. We do not publish competitor pricing; ask the manufacturer or its distributor for a current quote and compare total cost of ownership, not sticker price.

What are the consumables on icoone®?

+

Body sessions use a client body suit, so budget for suits per client. There are no tips, cartridges or applicators to replace on any icoone® configuration, and no per-session licence fees. The icoone® Microfacial has no cartridges or disposables to replace at all.

Why does the number of U.S. units matter?

+

Because it decides whether you are selling a category or competing inside one. There are thousands of LPG units in the United States, so in most metros endermologie is an established, price-shopped service. There are fewer than 100 icoone® devices in the entire country, so the first icoone® practice in a market usually still gets to define the offer and the price.

What support comes with icoone® from DNA Distribution?

+

Every full-price device includes training and certification, shipping, installation, the manufacturer warranty, a dedicated success manager, open-house event support and the 90-Day Launch Program — $10,000 of program value covering managed marketing and up to $2,500 of ad spend, running until 30 booked paying clients or day 90, whichever comes first.
